Twin Tragedies: How are our kids one year out?
As fires again rage in our backyard, it feels too familiar, too soon. Only one year ago our community experienced twin tragedies. The terror of the mass shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill brought our darkest night. Less than 24 hours later, the devastating flames of the Woolsey Fire lit up that dark night. Glued to our televisions and social media accounts, we watched these events transpire with raw emotions – fear, anxiety, anger, guilt, sadness, grief, shock, dismay – and our children watched . . . November is National Runaway Prevention Month
Nationally, 4.2 million young people age 13-24, experience some form of homelessness, such as couch surfing, sleeping on the streets, or staying in shelters, in the course of a year. ‘Sherwood Country Club Charitable Foundation’
Interface is grateful to have been chosen as one of five non-profit organizations to receive proceeds from the Invesco QQQ Championship Tournament hosted by Sherwood Country Club for disaster support. Since it’s inception, the Tournament has donated nearly $600,000 to local non-profits in the Greater Conejo and Ventura County.
The Sherwood Country Club Charitable Foundation generously supports the safe shelter of women, children, and youth, and other vital programs each year. The Foundation is dedicated to serving children and families in our community by supporting programs that address educational, medical, nutritional, and safety needs.
Attendees and volunteers throughout the day wrote messages of thanks to First Responders during the Invesco QQQ Golf Tournament.
